Term 3 has seen a busy start with all cadets completing their survival swimming assessments, and the start of parade practice as the countdown begins till our final parade. I ask that parents and guardians continue to encourage and support their children while in cadets, ensuring that they continue to attend classes, giving them the opportunity to continue to grow and further develop their resilience.
We have a change in leadership as Ciaran Behrendt stepped down from his position of Adjutant to focus on his Year 12 studies. We would like to thank Ciaran for all his hard work and leadership, not only this year but throughout the last 5 years. He will be sadly missed. Geneva Kamp has taken up the position of Adjutant for the remainder of the year.
In the July break we had cadets once again brave the cold weather at Puckapunyal to complete their respective Leadership courses. I am happy to announce that all cadets who attended successfully completed the course and now have the qualification.
Vietnam Veterans' Day is observed on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, marking the Battle of Long Tan. Originally commemorated as Long Tan Day. This annual national day honors the nearly 60,000 Australians who served during the Vietnam War, remembering the 521 who lost their lives and all those who bore physical and emotional scars. This year marking the significant 60th anniversary of the battle.

A special thank you to the 16 cadets, 2LT Adrian Bonser and Academic Vice Captain Lillian Glazebrook, in supporting the local Vietnam Veterans' and their families and Hamilton RSL and Legacy for commemorating so well the Vietnam Veterans' Day. The cadets formed part of the ceremony providing a Catafalque Party around the memorial along with a Colour Party and a general parade presence. All cadets are to be commended on their reverence and respect.
