Our Year 10 students have completed their three weeks of the Senior Teen Mental Health First Aid training course. A huge thanks to our facilitators, Belinda Carroll and Natalie Templeton, from our Monivae Wellbeing Hub who delivered these engaging and important sessions for our students.
Our Year 8 students will complete their Junior TMHFA course in Term 4.

On Wednesday, 5 August, Year 9 students had a presentation from SalvoConnect, Brophy and Headspace around homelessness week and myth busting misconceptions around what homelessness can look like. A lot of students were surprised to hear the number of people who are homeless in Hamilton and the Southern Grampians region, and the number of people who can benefit from our generosity and support through initiatives like Tinnies for Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul Society). This presentation linked local themes and units of work in both Health and Religion Education and reinforced our gospel values and catholic social teachings.

On Wednesday, 9 September, our current Year 10 students will complete their final survey in the Melbourne University Longitudinal study into the impacts of the Live4Life model on regional and rural communities. Any new students to Monivae would have received an email with more information about this research. It will be really interesting to get the final report back and see how our students and our community are travelling in regards to their wellbeing, mental health and confidence in accessing services in our community.
The survey will be completed in POD time on Wednesday, 9 September.
