NMR Cross Country

On Wednesday 18th June, Viewbank competed in the NMR Cross Country in Kilmore.

It was a great effort from all our students, especially given the cold conditions.

The following students have qualified for State Cross Country on the 24th July (Week 1, Term 3):- Poppy S (Yr. 12)- Declan L (Yr. 10)- Bastien F (Yr. 10)- Zoe R (Yr. 10)- Josh C (Yr. 8)

Good luck and we are all cheering you on from the College.

U17 Basketball Victoria Secondary Schools Challenge

This term we entered a team into the challenge with strong play in the first round leading to the team winning convincingly against private, catholic and public schools. The team was well coached by Lachie Draper in Year 11 and all players contributed through consistent training around learning set plays.

With the team winning the regional round they made it to the state finals which were against Basketball academies, private and Catholic schools.

We were one of two schools that did not have athlete development programs. Unfortunately we were missing three of our players from the first round and that meant that we had 7 players doing their best in each game. They won against St Ignatius and Berwick College, lost by a point to South East Bendigo and were beaten by CREST and Frankston High. This team will go on next term with the opportunities at the district, region and state level and hope the key learnings will transfer from these experiences. Well done all!
