Visual Arts in the Junior School

Each year in Visual Arts students are encouraged to express themselves creatively while experimenting with a wide variety of materials and techniques. They build on the skills learnt in previous years and are encouraged to meet all challenges with positivity and an open mind. 

Introductory lessons have provided an opportunity for discussions about the year ahead. Students were asked about what they are particularly looking forward to this year. Here are some of their responses. 

“I’m looking forward to making new things like maybe a dragon.” Ruhaan 1E 

“I want to make sculptures of things.” Emaan 1E 

“I am looking forward to painting because I am good at brush strokes.” Kane 4F 

“I’m looking forward to making our clay sculpture and also painting it and getting my hands covered in clay.” Mila 4F 

“I am looking forward to sketching because I want to be a good drawer.” Harshith  4E 

“In art I am looking forward to using clay because it brings my 3-D thoughts to life. The next thing I am looking forward to is painting because I love making things colourful.” Tiffany 4E 

“I enjoy making stuff out of clay because you can keep the sculptures that you made.” Jasmine 3D
