Tennis

Senior Boys: Kav L, Liam S, Matt P, Bailey V played entertainingly all day, but too much strength in shots saw them only beat Highvale SC in their last round.

Senior Girls: Hana T, Jacinta P, Gabby M, Sia P cherished the game wins they were able to obtain against some strong opposition.
Well done all.
Volleyball
Girls
On Tuesday, the 10th of February, the Senior Girls’ Volleyball teams competed in the Waverley Division Round Robin at Mullum Mullum Stadium against our friends and rivals: Glen Waverley, Highvale and Mount Waverley.
The Vermont A team (Caitlin A, Hannah D, Chloe D, Tilly G, Kaiesha J and Anushka S) won only one out of their three games but were competitive in all games.

Despite being low on numbers, the Vermont B team (Grace F, Neiva L, Leilani M, Kailei N and Lamar S) won all their games convincingly. Congratulations on winning the final!
Well done to all the players involved. It was a great day of exciting competition!
Boys/Mixed
The senior boys/mixed volleyball team has some great matches, the A team got close to making finals whilst the B team made it to the finals and won.

Great job everyone!
Cricket
Girls
The Senior Girls cricket team had an enjoyable day out at Lum Reserve. The girls played with a high level of skill and enthusiasm and were commended on their cricketing skill and fair play by both opposing teams. The girls had dominant win against Highvale SC in the round game before unfortunately losing to a very strong Mt Waverly in the Grand Final.

Best batters were Indi, Elodie, Maya & Sienna. Best bowlers were Maya, Emily, Khiara and Elodie. Maya took a one-handed spectacular catch. Well done to those who played their first games of cricket and thanks to Mr Smyth and Nikayla for coaching.
Boys/Mixed
The senior boys/mixed cricket team showed leadership and teamwork to beat both Highvale and Mount Waverly in two close games. Everyone played their role and contributed to the team to finish the day undefeated and progress to the next round. Well done all!
Softball
Our Senior Girls Softballers had a highly competitive day at the Division softball competition last Tuesday. The girls dominated the first two games against both Highvale and Mount Waverley, showing strong batting performances whilst also being able to back it up in the field, shutting down their opposition for minimal runs. The girls had a number of huge hits, including multiple home runs by Olivia, Caitlin and Nat. It was great to see fantastic teamwork by everyone in the field, making it very difficult for the opposition to get on base. Our final game against Glen Waverley was always going to be a tough one, they are a quality softball team as well. Unfortunately we had one of those games where all of our hits went to their fielders and all of their hits seemed to find the gaps. Congratulations to a terrific group of softballers who put in an amazing effort.

Baseball
Last Tuesday 10th February the VSC senior boys Baseball team represented the school against Highvale, Mount Waverley and Glen Waverley. In a thrilling contest the team won two of our games on the day setting up a final with Mount Waverley to move on to the next round. We came up short only losing by one run with amazing efforts from Luke M in his debut as catcher, James G with an impressive pitching performance and Evan R.
A huge thanks to the team on their efforts on the day and I am looking forward to our year 11 students joining the senior team again next year!
