Urinetown Production

Lucy Filor - Production Director

Hail Malthus!

While all that glitters may not be gold, this year’s production of Urinetown the Musical is certainly a 24-carat nugget!

Wednesday’s preview matinee for primary schools and senior citizens was rewarded with a five-star round of applause and ear-splitting screams as the curtain closed on our immensely talented cast, crew and band.

A selection of Norwood’s most brilliant thespian talent portrays a cast of characters, ranging from loveable to deplorable …

We all love Bobby Strong (Judah Magno) and Hope Cladwell (Liana Ohi), but Little Sally (Marlea Sheehan) can be precociously annoying, especially to the charismatic and occasionally sadistic Officer Lockstock (Logan Bexley) and his devoted sidekick Officer Barrel (Jack Carvill).  The more anarchic among us will fall in love with the chaos and terror of Hot Blades (Hayley Tonkin) and Becky Two-Shoes (Lexi Denholm), and no one is immune to the magnetism of Caldwell B Cladwell (Elijah Magno) or the officious appeal of Penelope Pennywise (Alex Bennett).  McQueen (Bee Kingi) may steal your sympathy, but Fipp (Caleb Smith) is likely to steal your wallet if it contains enough cash!

These fabulous characters are supported by a handful of other hilarious and perplexing minor roles and a mighty ensemble of dancers and world-builders who all bring enormous strength and energy to our hideously named show.
