Year 10 Community Work Experience Program
During the last week of term two, we also ran a Year 10 Community Work Experience program for the students who were unable to secure a work experience placement. During this week we had students participate in a variety of community based programs, including tree planting with the Werribee River Association, litter collection in our local area run by NatureWest, as well as working with the younger classes at Tarneit P-9. The students who attended the Werribee River activity planted 387 trees around the Forsyth Road Drain in Truganina.
The students who did the litter clean up run by NatureWest and the Wyndham City Council collected over seven bags of rubbish, as well as a double pram, two trolleys and a tyre. A $50 note was also found, which seemed to motivate the students to look for more rubbish!
