Principal's Report
Term 3 is well underway and for our Year 12 students the finish line is fast approaching. This term will see us beginning to work with a lot of students and families on what opportunities are provided for 2025 and beyond. We look forward to welcoming a lot of our families to the school for a variety of events including our 2025 Information Evenings as well as our Parent Teacher Conferences. Please make sure you are checking our school calendar for opportunities to visit us and hear valuable information about choices for your child’s schooling, as well as the range of career and pathway opportunities.
Year 11 2024 Information Evening & Course Counselling
Last week we invited our students and families to the College to explore subject offerings, courses, and career discussions for our current Year 10 students. This was a valuable opportunity for students and families to discuss not only 2025 but also their VCE programs for 2025 & 2026 as well as further career aspirations. We hope our families found it valuable to hear about a range of opportunities and discuss subject offerings with our vast array of experienced staff and members from a range of different Careers.
New Chirnside Extension
We are very proud that students and staff have finally been able to use the classrooms and meeting spaces in our new Chirnside extension! This has been a project 18 months in the making and the spaces extend our excellent learning environment. We look forward to more students and parents seeing this space as the year unfolds.
Upgrade Volleyball Courts
The school council approved an upgrade to our volleyball courts to change them from a sand-based court to synthetic and these works have been completed over the holidays and the first 2 weeks of Term 3. The students have been able to use these courts for the past few days and it is just the first step of the school extending some further outdoor spaces for students to engage in physical and social activities.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday 5th September (3.40 pm - 7.20 pm) and Friday 6th September (9.10 am - 1.20 pm). These are a great opportunity for our students and families to gain valuable feedback as we move into the final part of the academic year and ensure that students have the information they need to finish the year strongly and get the best results for themselves.
All of these events are outlined in our Compass system and if parents are yet to login we implore you to please begin logging in and accessing all of the valuable information in Compass such as notices, attendance, permission forms, and staff communications. If you do not know how to login to Compass please contact the school on 9749 0246 or come to our front office and we will be able to assist you.
Year 12 - One Last Push
This term is the home stretch for our Year 12 students and we are working hard to provide them with the valuable skills and knowledge they will need for their end of year exams and their future career pathways beyond Tarneit Senior College. Please support your children and the school with positive conversations and by providing them the space and time for good study habits.
