P.E.

The PE department has had a jam-packed start to Term 4, with a number of sporting events taking place alongside the beginning of our dance production rehearsals.

On Friday, the 17th of October, our Year 6 mixed volleyball team, along with our boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, competed at the Casey North Division Play-Offs at Cardinia Life Stadium. Our volleyball team showed great improvement as the tournament progressed, but unfortunately did not come away with a win. Both basketball teams were undefeated heading into their grand finals. The girls fought incredibly hard, coming back from an 11-point deficit to fall just short, losing by one point to St Margaret’s Grammar. The boys came up against a very tall and well-structured Brentwood Park side and were outplayed, going down by 20 points. We are extremely proud of the sportsmanship, teamwork and positivity that all three teams demonstrated throughout the day.

On Friday, 24 October, 17 students represented our school at the Southern Metropolitan Regional Athletics Event at Casey Fields. Congratulations to the following students who competed across a range of track and field events:

Charlee (5TW), Grace (6AW), Micaela (5TW), April (5TW), Milicia (4AM), Amy (4SY), Melissa (4BY), Mila (4AM), Liam (6NH), Moksha (5MD), Nivein (5LH), Vihaan (6EH), Claire  (6NH), Zac (6NH), Sia (5AM), Lorenzo (4AM) and Promit (5LK).

It is an outstanding achievement to have so many students qualify for this level of competition (just one step below State), and we were incredibly impressed by their determination and effort.

A special congratulations goes to the five students who placed 1st on the day and have now progressed to the State Championships in the following events:

  • Grace (6AW) – 11 Girls High Jump

  • Mila (4AM) – 10 Girls 4x100m Individual Race & 10 Girls 4x100m Relay

  • Amy (4SY) – 10 Girls 4x100m Relay

  • Melissa (4BY) – 10 Girls 4x100m Relay

  • Milica (4AM) – 10 Girls 4x100m Relay

We wish these students the very best of luck as they compete against the top young athletes in Victoria. We are incredibly proud of all our competitors and their dedication to training and representing our school with pride.
