Principal Report

Week 4 already! It has been wonderful to see our students so well settled into Term 4 and fully engaged in their learning. The Principal Team regularly visit classrooms and spend time with our students out in the yard - it’s always a fantastic to see our Oatlands values on display in every space across the school.
We’ve already had some exciting events this term, with plenty more to look forward to!
Today we celebrated World Teachers’ Day! We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated and talented teachers here at Oatlands. Our staff were treated to a special morning tea as a small token of appreciation for their ongoing hard work, care, and commitment to our students. Thank you teachers!
Our Prep Transition Program, Leap Into Learning, is well underway, with our 2026 Preps completing their fourth visit this week. They’ve explored the playground, listened to stories, played games, and practiced their drawing skills. We can’t wait to officially welcome our newest Oatlands learners next year!
Dance lessons have been a huge hit this term! Students completed their final choreography session this week and will continue rehearsing in preparation for our Dance Production on Friday, 12th December. We look forward to seeing their creativity and enthusiasm shine on stage.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students recently took part in a UR STRONG – Friendology incursion, where they revisited the language of friendship and explored strategies for building and maintaining healthy relationships. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to strengthen their understanding of positive connections.
We are looking forward to our Colour Run on Friday, 7th November, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm. Students are encouraged to wear black or white clothing to make the colours pop! Thank you to everyone for your amazing fundraising efforts - your support makes such a difference. We can’t wait for this fun-filled afternoon!
Our Oatlands Annual Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 12th November, in the Stuart Daly Gym from 9:40 am to 10:40 am. Parents, grandparents, and family members are warmly invited to attend and, if they wish, lay flowers during the ceremony. Students are also encouraged to bring flowers to place under the flags as a mark of respect. Remembrance Day merchandise will be available for purchase at the Remembrance Day Stall, located in the Calm Cave, from 8:45 am to 9:00 am. We hope you can support this year’s appeal and look forward to sharing this important occasion with our community.
It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting term at Oatlands. Thank you to our staff, students, and families for your ongoing support and involvement in all that we do.
