Little Desert Stories

This year, Talitha Kenny, Ruby Williams and Lorraine Isaacson Silverton-Col have been working towards completing their Certificate II in Cultural Arts at Batchelor Institute.

At the end of last term, they attended the Desert Mob Artist Talks, a valuable opportunity to hear firsthand from leading artists and curators from the Central Desert region.

The students also hosted their own exhibition, Little Desert Stories, showcasing their paintings and sharing the stories behind their work. Opening night was a wonderful success, with students celebrating sales of their artwork and speaking about their experiences throughout the course. They also reflected on working with primary school students to help them create their own artworks.

We extend our sincere thanks to their lecturer, Georgine, for her guidance, encouragement and support throughout the course, helping the students develop their skills and confidence as artists.

Congratulations to Talitha, Ruby and Lorraine on their creativity, dedication and excellent efforts throughout the year. We are proud of their achievements and the way they shared their artwork and stories with the community.
