Chaplain's Message

Acts 17:27-28
"He is actually not far from each one of us, for 'In him we live and move and have our being.'"
On Monday this week, every House had a farewell breakfast planned to say goodbye to their Year 12’s, and I noticed that the Year 12’s had a great time in the pool, and came dressed in something that they would like.
On Thursday evening we had the New Families Information Evening. I mention these examples because the verse in Acts speaks to us that God is everywhere. The Year 12’s journeyed through St Philip’s, and now finally, they have completed their high school. After their exams some will go on to higher education, some will take a Gap year, and others will look for jobs.
God has journeyed with them and their families throughout their time here and has met them through their challenges, there’s a lot of re-learning, unlearning and learning. Then we have the new students coming in, God will carry them through until their final year, some will finish here at St Philip’s, others may leave halfway through, God is right there in the middle of their relearning, unlearning and learning.
God meets us right in the middle of our relearning, unlearning and learning. Wherever the Year 12’s and new and incoming students go, God is right there. Whatever challenges they face God is in the middle of everything.
Perspective Changes Everything: while the leaving students and new students will venture out into new beginnings, the people and friends they meet will support and enable them to see things differently.
We Are Never Truly Alone: Throughout the Year 12’s journey in their re-learning, unlearning and learning they are never alone, God is right there.
Lord, thank you for journeying alongside our Year 12’s and their families,
thank you for new students and their families coming to join St Philip’s.
As they unlearn, re-learn and learn to navigate their different
pathways, guide and empower them with your love.
In Jesus name we pray. AMEN
