The Cafe
The Cafe is open Tuesday to Friday. Meals are prepared onsite, using fresh, real-food ingredients. Orders are welcome and are a great way to ensure you'll get what you want. These can be placed until the end of Morning Tea break.
Price Rise and House-keeping
I just wanted to let everyone know that from Term 4, there will be a small price increase on some items at the Café.
In particular, this will affect some of our lower-priced favourites, including cookies, jelly cups and scones. These items have all been kept $2 or under for as long as possible, but with the continued increase in the cost of food, packaging and freight, they are no longer cost-effective at their current prices.
Until now I have absorbed these increases myself rather than passing them on to the students. I’ve been very happy to do that for as long as I could, unfortunately I now need to make a small adjustment to some prices.
One other little request — cash is always very welcome and, where possible, preferred, particularly for these smaller purchases. I do not charge the merchant fees on card transactions, which can make a significant difference when the item being purchased is only a dollar or two. Every little bit helps me to keep the Café running and prices as affordable as possible for the students.
Many students are coming to the café hoping they have enough money on their card to pay for what they’ve chosen only to have their card declined. A little reminder for students, parents and carers to check with them before school how much money they have available to spend.
On a much happier note, a special thank you to the students who pop in to help during the busy start of recess and lunch. Your help makes such a difference when things get a little hectic! A particular thank you to Josiah and Abbie, who are wonderful regular Café helpers.
If any students would like to get some hands-on experience in customer service, I’m always happy to have an extra pair of hands during these busy times. It’s a great opportunity to learn a few skills, work alongside other students and help out around the Café.
