Business Admin Traineeship – AGL

The Opportunity - We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Administration Trainee to join the team at AGL Energy. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable administration and reception experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification with one of Australia’s largest energy providers. Working alongside experienced administration professionals, you'll develop practical business skills in a supportive environment while contributing to a well-respected organisation that provides valuable community services.

 

Location: Mt Beauty

Employment Type: Full-Time Traineeship (38 hours per week)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm

This position is a 12-month role and would suit a recent school leaver or someone wanting to take a gap year and earn a qualification while doing so.

About the Role

In January 2027, Lloyd Accounting Co. Pty Ltd is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our team in Albury, NSW. In this role you will work with a broad range of clients while receiving hands-on training and mentoring from our experienced accounting team. This isn’t just a desk job processing numbers – you will gain exposure to all aspects of our business and develop practical skills that will set you up for a successful career in public practice.

 

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a year 12 student who demonstrates:

  • A genuine interest in accounting, business and finance
  • A commitment to undertaking university studies in accounting or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm to gain practical experience and develop their career
  • No prior experience needed: Full training will be provided

Scholarships

Veteran-descendant scholarships - applications close 31 October

Students with a parent, grandparent or great-grandparent who served in the Australian Defence Force can qualify for scholarships worth up to $18,000 for TAFE or Uni study. AVCAT applications opened 18 August and close 31 October - https://avcat.org.au/scholarships/

 

Digger Scholarships (diggerscholarships.com.au) has a free searchable database of all 67 veteran-descendant scholarships and grants, with eligibility, closing dates and application links, plus a map of scholarships near your school. Their $59 decode service turns an ancestor's service record, copperplate handwriting, army shorthand and all, into a plain-English Australian story and timeline that students can attach to strengthen their application.

 

Rural Chances Vocational Scholarship – Applications close Monday 19th October

Scholarships valued at $5000 assist young people to meet costs associated with vocational training including tools of trade, moving out/accommodation and extensive travel required to complete training qualifications. Rural Chances scholarship recipients will receive extra care from a mentor along with leadership and networking opportunities.

 

Rural Chances can help if you:

  • Have to travel long distances or move away from home to gain qualifications, or
  • Struggle with the many expenses associated with training and building your skills, and
  • Would like mentoring and networking opportunities.
