Pip, Rhona and Leah
It’s hard to believe we have come to the end of a very busy term 3! A huge thank you from the wellbeing team to our students for getting on board with some key activities over the past ten weeks! From the Bullying No Way Week cupcakes to the RU OK Day mural build, our students have enthusiastically participated in recognising and gaining an understanding of the meaning behind these days.
Looking ahead to next term, our outdoor lunchtime activities are back with 3 v 3 basketball on Thursdays and pickleball tournament on Fridays, both set to go ahead from Week one! Following the success of the Term 2 netball competition, we are sure to see healthy competition and plenty of energy!
As we celebrate the end of the term and look forward to some much-needed time to recharge, we also recognise that school holidays can be a challenging and sometimes isolating time for some people and families.
The wellbeing support fact sheet from the Department of Education, provides tips on looking after your mental health and wellbeing over the school holidays and information on the services available to families if you need to reach out for support. For information and resources check out Mental Health Supports Over School Holidays.
Finally, a big thank you to Pip, our mental health practitioner, whose last day was on Tuesday. Pip has decided to step back from the role and focus on her own health and wellbeing. We wish her all the best! As always, our wellbeing team are always available to chat:
Leah, our School Nurse is with us every second Thursday
Rhona, our Student Support Mentor is here on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Thank you all for the opportunity to be a part of the community and the school. I admire the kindness, generosity and friendship that you all as students show towards each other. Thank you also to the parents and carers of our young people for the support that you give to the school, your young person and to the community.
Congratulations to the new School Captains, I know that you will carry on the great work of the School Captains of this year.
To the Year 12's - well done to you all for your hard work and persistence with keeping going with your studies. May you all do well in your exams, and may you achieve all the goals that you want to achieve for yourselves.
Sadly, I've needed to resign from my work as MHP with the school, as the drive up and down from Wodonga has caught up with me and is something that I wasn't able to sustain going forward.
Thank you again for letting me a part of this wonderful community and school.
Cheers,
Pip
