Staffing Update

In preparation for planning for 2027, staff are asked to provide their intentions for the following year. I am now in a position to share our staffing news.

Ann Bellingham and Esther Leccardi will continue with a further period of leave for 2027.

Vicky Levesque was already planning to take leave in 2027, but due to unforeseen circumstances, has decided to take leave for the rest of this year, leading into her 2027 leave. This has been a difficult decision for Vicky; however, she has left her students well placed to finish their year, and her resources will be available to continue to support her students. Plans are being finalised to be able to cover Vicky’s classes for the remainder of the year.

Pip Rose, our Mental Health Practitioner, has also finished up this term. Pip has found that the drive from Wodonga has been demanding, and she has reached the point where she feels continuing would be detrimental to her longer term health. Pip has written a note to the school community, which you will find further in this publication.

In the library, Colleen Adams will be resuming her normal hours of work for Term 4, being 4 days a week, and Jessica Tilley will also return to her normal hours of work, being 1 day a week.

Shantelle Stimson will be taking a year of leave in 2027 and will be leaving the area to return closer to her family home.

For those leaving permanently, or for a short period, I would like to thank them, on behalf of the school community, for all their effort and hard work, and wish them all the best for 2027.

Parent/Caregiver Opinion Survey (PCOS)

The survey closes today, but there are still a few hours left if you are yet to complete this survey. Thank you to those that shared their opinions. At the time of writing, we had improved on the 2025 response rate of 32 (28% of our families), reaching 39 responses, or a total of 36%.

VSBA works – Fascia board replacement

We were lucky enough to gain some Department funding to replace the fascia boards on the main building, as many of these are starting to rot quite badly (they’ve done a good job for the last 60 years). The works started at the end of this week and will hopefully be completed by the start of the Term 4.

If you are walking through the school grounds, please be careful of any scaffolding and equipment/supplies, and be on the lookout for unexpected traffic.

End of Term 3 Holiday

Every term is big, but Term 3 often seems the biggest, especially if you have been involved in the ski season in any way (working or enjoying it). I hope all the staff and students will make sure they have some time out to relax and recover after a tiring term.

For most of our Year 12s, this is really the last push, with only 2 weeks and 1 day of official classes left on their return and the exam period starting in Week 4. Some time to relax is very important for our Year 12s, but don’t waste these holidays. You will have an extended holiday soon enough, so use this time wisely for preparation.

I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing holiday period. I',m looking forward to seeing all the students back on Monday 5th October.
