Primary 10 - First Win!

Cross Country

On Friday, 9th May, nine students from Years 4 to 6 represented Magill School at the SAPSASA Cross Country Carnival, held at Foxfield Oval in Athelstone. Competing in the Torrens River division, our students faced strong competition from several schools across the district.

For some of our representatives, this was their first experience participating in a SAPSASA event, and for some, their first opportunity to compete in a long-distance event such as cross country. Students born in 2013 and 2014 completed three laps, covering a total distance of 3 kilometres, while those born in 2015 completed two laps, totalling 2 kilometres.

All students demonstrated outstanding effort, resilience, and school spirit throughout the day. A special commendation goes to Ollie T, who achieved a top-six finish and has qualified to compete at the State Cross Country Day in early June. We extend our congratulations and best wishes to Ollie for the upcoming event.

It was uplifting to see the camaraderie among our students. Their support for one another, regardless of individual results, and the joy they showed in celebrating each other’s successes spoke volumes about the strong connections they share.

Thanks to the parents in attendance,  who offered encouragement and cheered on our students throughout the day. A special thank you to Bryan Goh for generously volunteering as an official on the afternoon. Events like this are made possible by the dedication and support of our wider school community, for which we are sincerely grateful.
