A Message from the Principal

Dear families and friends,
Last Friday’s Senior School Inter-House Athletics Carnival was a wonderful showcase of what makes our College community special. The track and field events saw determination, friendly rivalry, and moments of great personal achievement. In the House bays, the cheers, smiles, and encouragement reflected the genuine care our students have for one another. It was more than a day of competition — it was a celebration of participation and kindness in action.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the day — those who competed with determination, stepped in to fill events, supported their House, or simply cheered from the sidelines. A special thanks to our dedicated staff for their amazing work, in particular our Sports Co-ordinator Mr Fiegert, whose planning, organisation, and leadership ensured the day ran so smoothly. We are also grateful to the parents and carers who joined us. Your presence not only motivates our students but strengthens the connection between home and school, making occasions like this even more special.
In the spirit of Rosendo Salvado, we are reminded that strong communities are built when we step forward with courage and generosity. The values we saw on Friday — getting involved, respecting others, and choosing kindness — are the same values that must shape the culture of our College every day.
As Pope Leo XIV reminds us:
"We must be courageous in the witness we give— with words and above all with our lives: giving our lives, serving, sometimes with great sacrifices, to truly live this mission."
Congratulations to Frayne House, winners of the Overall Championship Cup and to MacKillop House, recipients of the “House Spirit Award” for best overall participation.
The spirit shown on Friday is the standard we set for every day at Salvado Catholic College. We expect every member of our community — students, staff, and families — to take part, to speak and act with respect, and to choose kindness in all that we do. These are not just expectations for carnival day; they are the foundations of the safe, welcoming, and thriving College we are building together. When we live them consistently, we create a community where everyone belongs and can flourish.
God bless!
Ms Giovanna Fiume
