Year 3 to Year 6
As we move through Term 3, there’s a buzz of excitement building in Year 6! Our dedicated Year 6 teachers have already begun planning for the much-anticipated Year 6 Celebration next term. While we won’t give too much away just yet… watch this space for more details coming soon!
We are delighted to share that several of our Year 4 students will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday, 23 August at 6:00pm at St Francis Xavier Catholic Parish in Hilbert. This is a very special milestone in their faith journey, and we warmly invite all families and community members to join us in celebrating this sacred occasion.
Across all year levels, students are working incredibly hard with their teachers, powering through the Western Australian Curriculum. The WA Curriculum is developed by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA), which plays a vital role in Western Australian education. The Authority's role is to:
Set out the mandated curriculum that shows teachers what they are expected to teach
Provide guiding principles for teaching, learning and assessment that promote equity and excellence in Western Australian schools
Support teachers in their assessment of student progress and reporting of student achievement

At Salvado, we continue to nurture not only academic growth but also the emotional wellbeing of our students. Developing resilience—the ability to bounce back from challenges—is a key focus across all year levels. We encourage students to approach learning and life with optimism, seeing setbacks as opportunities to grow. At the same time, we help them recognise and manage pessimistic thinking, which can sometimes hold them back. Through classroom discussions, well-being programs, and everyday interactions, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to thrive both now and into the future. We encourage Parents/Carers to discuss these topics with their child/ren.
Regular school attendance is vital. When students miss school, they miss out on key learning experiences, continuity in lessons, and valuable time with their peers and teachers. Attendance that is less than 90% can impact a student’s ability to keep up with the curriculum and may lead to gaps in understanding that are difficult to bridge. We encourage families to prioritise attendance to support every child’s learning journey.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in your child’s education.
Regards,
Mrs Christine Pitman
