A Message from the College Psychologist
To the wonderful Salvado Catholic College community,
Please be advised that I will be away on leave from Wednesday 20th August 2025, and returning on Monday 15th September 2025.
If you require support during this time, our fantastic College Psychologist, Matt Woodford will be available to check in with you/your child. His work days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Additionally, our wonderful Wellbeing Coordinator, Mrs Kerry Browne will also be here from Monday to Thursday to support you as needed.
Take care of yourselves and I look forward to connecting with you when I’m back at the college in Week 9.
Blessings to you all!

Raising Strong Kids - Building Resilience
In a world that continually presents us with various challenges, both big and small, building resilience becomes crucial for our children's well-being and growth. Resilience is the capacity to adapt and bounce back from difficulties—an essential skill that helps our children not only cope with but also thrive in the face of adversity.
Children, much like adults, encounter numerous challenges throughout their lives. Whether it's starting at a new school, moving to a new home, welcoming a new sibling, facing bullying, or navigating family changes, these experiences can be daunting. Yet, each challenge offers a unique opportunity for growth and development.
Resilience isn't something that magically appears; it's built over time through experience and overcoming obstacles. Each time children face and work through a difficulty, they develop a stronger sense of self-confidence and an enhanced ability to tackle future challenges. Similar, to a muscle that strengthens with use—every experience of overcoming adversity helps build this vital skill.
Supporting our children in developing resilience involves fostering a positive and supportive environment where they feel safe to explore and face challenges. Encouraging problem-solving, offering emotional support, and celebrating their efforts and progress, regardless of the outcome, all contribute to building resilience.
As we guide our children through their unique challenges, we equip them with the tools they need to become stronger, more confident individuals. By helping them develop resilience, we prepare them not just to face difficulties, but to embrace them as opportunities for growth.
Rainbows
A space your child/ren may be able to share their emotions is through our Rainbows program.
Information regarding the Rainbows program will be coming home to families and caregivers, Pre-Primary through to Year 6 in the next couple of weeks.
Please read the letter carefully and if you feel your child/ren’s participation in Rainbows may be beneficial, an Expression of Interest form will be attached to the letter for completion and return to the college.
If you have any questions regarding the Rainbows program, please do not hesitate to call or email me kerry.browne@cewa.edu.au.
