MacqLit
Recently our Education Assistant, Miss Hannah Morris, took part in MacqLit training.
MacquLit is an extension of the MiniLit program that we use at school for students in Year 1.
Similarly to MiniLit, MacqLit is a small-group reading intervention program that supports students in Years 3 – 6 to build stronger reading skills. This training has equipped Miss Morris with new skills and resources to help boost reading confidence and achievement for our students.
Staff v Student - Netball
The staff dominated on the court last week in the Staff v Students netball game. Whether you were backing the teachers or cheering for the students, the crowd was going wild! There were plenty of quick passes and defense strategies in play!! What a game!
2025 Victory in the Pacific and Vietnam Veteran’s Day
This morning, Lilian Davies and Anna Murphy proudly represented our school at the 2025 Victory in the Pacific and Vietnam Veteran’s Day Service which was held at the Memorial in front of the Narrabri RSL Club.
This special occasion commemorates Victory in the Pacific Day, marking the end of World War II in the Pacific and honouring the service and sacrifice of Australian troops who fought in Papua New Guinea, Borneo, the Philippines and other areas. It also recognises Vietnam Veteran’s Day, paying tribute to those who served in the Vietnam War and acknowledging their courage and dedication.
Brain Olympia
Last Thursday, 24 enthusiastic students travelled to Walgett to represent our school in the Brain Olympia competition. Our teams, comprising students from Years 4, 5, and 6, competed against teams from St Joseph’s School, Walgett, and St Philomena’s School, Moree.
Throughout the day, students took part in a variety of challenges, including general knowledge quizzes, mathematical problem-solving, as well as public speaking and drama performances based on topics revealed on the day.
Congratulations to the Nandewar team who finished the day in equal first place!!! They will participate in the finals taking place in Gunnedah next week.
Well done to all students involved for their teamwork, creativity, and dedication!
