Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,

What a fantastic week of learning in Year 1! In Writing, students explored procedural texts by creating their own set of instructions for making funny face cookies. They then followed their steps to create their delicious creations, learning the importance of clear and sequenced instructions.

During Literacy, students participated in Readers' Theatre, working in groups to perform Little Red Riding Hood. They practised reading with fluency, expression, and confidence while bringing the characters and story to life.

In Guided Inquiry, students proudly completed our unit, How Humans Survive? To showcase their learning, they created trioramas featuring three key areas: how plants and animals help us survive (including food and clothing), first aid and safety, and protection from the environment. Students demonstrated a wonderful understanding of the ways people meet their basic needs and stay safe.

In Mathematics, students continued investigating 2D and 3D shapes. Using shape blocks and hands-on materials, they identified and described shape names and explored their properties, including faces, edges, and vertices.

We are very proud of the enthusiasm and effort students have shown across all learning areas this week!
