Dear families,

Over the past few weeks, there has been a wonderful sense of team spirit and community across St Mary’s School Rushworth. It has been incredibly pleasing to see our students consistently going out of their way to include others, show kindness, and demonstrate the values that make our school such a special place to learn and grow. Our families also continue to play an important role in strengthening our community. Whether attending special events, supporting their children, volunteering their time, or contributing to school life in meaningful ways, the partnership between home and school is something we deeply value and appreciate.

There is certainly a great deal happening over the coming month. We are looking forward to the unveiling of the beautiful mural created by Emma Stenhouse and the students of St. Mary’s a project that reflects creativity, collaboration, and community spirit. We are also excited to commence the Creative Arts Victoria Performing Arts Program, which will provide students with valuable opportunities to express themselves creatively and build confidence through the arts.

Our Grade 5/6 students are also eagerly anticipating their camp to Anglesea from the 27th–29th of May. Hailey and Katherine will accompany the students, and I thank them for their willingness to support this important experience for our senior students. Unfortunately, I will not be attending camp this year, as we are required to have a senior staff member onsite at all times. Amidst all of this wonderful engagement and activity, I would also like to acknowledge our dedicated teaching staff. They continue to do an outstanding job ensuring that explicit teaching and learning remain as uninterrupted and consistent as possible. Their commitment to providing calm, structured, and high-quality learning environments ensures our students continue to thrive academically while also enjoying the rich opportunities school life provides. It is an exciting and positive time at St. Mary’s, and I thank our students, staff, and families for the spirit of connection, support, and collaboration they bring to our school community each day.
