It has been a busy and productive start to the term across our VPC classes, with students engaging in a range of practical and meaningful learning experiences.

In VPC Literacy, students have been exploring different text types, with a focus on understanding audience and purpose. They have been responding to a variety of texts and developing their skills in analysing how information is presented and communicated.

In VPC Numeracy, students have been building their understanding of location and mapping. This has included working with directions, interpreting maps, and learning how to read and understand public transport timetables—valuable real-world skills that support independence.

In VPC Personal Development Skills, students have been reflecting on their own character strengths while also learning more about their local community. They have been identifying the assets and supports available to them and considering how they can connect with and contribute to their community.

In VPC Digital Literacy, students have been focusing on cyber security and exploring a range of apps. They are developing an understanding of how to use these tools effectively, safely, and responsibly in both personal and learning contexts.

Looking ahead, VPC Literacy students will be shifting their focus to digital text types, while VPC Numeracy will begin exploring Financial Numeracy, helping students build essential skills for managing money in everyday life.

We are proud of the effort students have shown and look forward to another engaging term ahead.
