Senior School Report

Mr Anthony Ellul

Dear Greensborough College Community,

As we approach the mid-point of Term 2, there’s been a wonderful buzz across the Senior School. I’d like to share some recent highlights and provide a few key updates as we continue supporting our students through an important stage of their educational journey.

Athletics Carnival – A Brilliant Day of Fun and School Spirit This year’s Athletics Carnival was an absolute hit! We were treated to a perfect day weather-wise, and the energy on the field was infectious. A special mention goes to our Year 12 students, who embraced the theme of movie characters with flair and humour—their costumes were creative, colourful, and truly entertaining! It was fantastic to see students across all year levels getting involved, cheering on their peers, and celebrating what it means to be part of the Greensborough College community.

VCE & Careers Expo – Pathways for the Future Our Year 10 and 12 students recently attended the VCE and Careers Expo, and the day proved to be both informative and inspiring. Year 10s had the opportunity to explore a range of stalls and begin asking meaningful questions about their future career paths. Meanwhile, our Year 12 students engaged in detailed conversations and research around further education, training, and employment opportunities. These experiences are vital in helping students make informed decisions about life beyond school. A huge thank you to all staff who supported the excursion, with a special acknowledgement to Ms Alexander for her leadership and coordination on the day.

GAT – General Achievement Test (Tuesday 17 June) Looking ahead, all students completing a Unit 3 and 4 subject—including those in VCE, VCE VM and VET—will undertake the GAT (General Achievement Test) on Tuesday 17 June. The GAT is an essential part of the VCE assessment program and provides valuable data to support fair and accurate student outcomes. Further details will be sent to students and families as the date approaches, so please keep an eye on Compass for updates.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support and encouragement. We are incredibly proud of the effort and engagement our senior students are demonstrating, and we look forward to a strong finish to the term.
