Maths Report

It has been a great start to the year. For the first time in a long-time we have two VCE General Maths Classes running at Year 12 and Year 11, plus keen Mathematical Methods classes at both year levels. 

In the junior years we have advanced and core classes. Students have been tackling the new Victorian curriculum – Mathematics 2.0. This means students now tackle 6 strands: number, algebra, measurement, space (in the past known as geometry), statistics and probability. Interestingly, we only report on maths as a whole mid-year and at the end of the year, so rather than having the 3 dots that we had in the past, you will only see one. Be aware this may mean that the highs that have been reported in one of the old strands, might be averaged out.  

Later in the year we will have a number of activities coming up – maths excursions, games days and the Australian Maths Competition. Stay tuned.
