This Semester, teachers have participated in a range of professional learning activities to continue to build excellence in teaching and learning.
Working though our Professional Learning Communities (PLC), staff have been exploring a range of positive classroom management strategies to build student engagement and enhance learning. Utilising student data and evidence-based methods, teachers have been working hard to apply these strategies and objectively observe their effectiveness, in improving teaching practice. Working though the PLC improvement cycle, teachers strengthen, enhance and refine their teaching methods.
Staff have also been updating units of work and assessment frameworks to integrate the new Victorian Curriculum 2.0 into our teaching and learning program.
In addition, staff and students have begun working through a series of activities in the Resilience Project. This is a comprehensive program of mindfulness tasks and thought-provoking lessons that open up conversations, build empathy and inspire happiness. These lessons will be delivered through Connect classes and are linked to the Victorian Curriculum -Personal and Social Capability.
This is just a small sample of the ongoing professional development activities that our wonderful staff are involved in to help us to ensure that we continue to build excellence at Greensborough College.
