ABCN - Emerging Leader Program

On Monday the 30th of March, fifteen Year 8 and 9 students travelled to the city to participate in a leadership course with ABCN. This was held on the twentythird story of the Ernst and Young building and the students really enjoyed the views of the whole of the cityscape and surrounding suburbs from the top. Being in a professional environment was a fantastic eye-opening experience for them.
The students were in groups of three or four and allocated an industry leader from different departments of the Ernst and Young Corporation. There are over 400,000 employees for Ernst and Young across the globe and so the students began by understanding that a good leader needs to be a good communicator and be good at working as a team. It is not possible to be an expert at everything, so incorporating the skills of others can help a whole team to achieve great things.
The students worked through some scenarios and discussed their solutions to real world workplace problems with these industry leaders and did an excellent job. The students were exceptional college representatives in the way they conducted themselves on the train, exploring the city and in a business environment.
