Dear Parents and Carers,
This newsletter is the final newsletter of Term 1, 2025.
This term has flown by with the school participating in many additional events and activities, including NAPLAN, Harmony Day, Year 6 Transition Programs, Swimming Carnival, presentations from Murrumbidgee Youth Police on Online Safety, Bullying and legal rights for adolescents. Today we concluded the term with an Easter Liturgy and our Annual Cross Country at Lake Wyangan.
Year 12 students and leaders have been busy organising fundraising events for students throughout the term including the recent Lent fundraising for Project Compassion.
We farewell two teachers at the end of this term, Mrs Taryn Field who will be focusing on her business enterprises and Mr Albert Alexander who is moving to Western Australia with his family. Taking on Mr Alexander’s pastoral role with our Year 7 students is Ms Stephanie Carte who will be acting Pastoral Leader-Year 7. Replacing Mrs Field will be Ms Rudo Kudzuto (Science & Math's), who we are expecting at the start of Term 2. We thank the teachers leaving for their service and congratulate Ms Carte for stepping up to the important role of leadership for our youngest students. There will be some other adjustments to timetables for teachers related to these changes.
We invite all parents to attend our presentation of Dr Justin Coulson’s ‘Resilience’ on May 7th in the Marcellin Hall. This is free of charge to all parents and is not an event for students or children to attend. Please see the Compass TX invitation to take up a free ticket to this rare opportunity.
We will also support the Griffith ANZAC Day Service on the 25th. Students have the opportunity to march with their peers and other schools in the 10 am service. Please stay tuned for information sent from the school. Student leaders will present a wreath on behalf of the school. Mark Channa (Yr 11) will play the reveille at both dawn and mid morning services.
In conclusion, I wish everyone a very safe, blessed and happy Easter, our most sacred Catholic celebration. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on the Tuesday the 29th of April as Monday 28th will be a Pupil free day.
