News from Foundation 

Welcome back to another term together! What a busy first week we have had back together, and Mrs B has been blown away by the incredible behaviour and enthusiasm the students have been displaying! We are so excited for an amazing term together!

What are we learning this Term?

Maths- Location

This week, for Maths, we have been learning about Location and using Positional Language to describe objects. Some of the words we have been learning to use are: behind, next to, in front of, on top, above, below, underneath. 

One activity we did was following the instructions in a picture to draw. The instructions said, "Draw a bird above the house". Here are some Seesaw entries of the Foundations describing their picture using Positional Language.

Another activity we did was for everyone to stand in a line, point, and say who was in front of them and who was behind them.

Maths- Counting practice

In Maths, we have been practising counting to 20! This week, we have been focusing on counting backwards from 20! The Foundations have been doing awesome at it so far! We practised doing some more counting in a game with a partner where the Foundations rolled a dice, subertised how many dots they saw and added that many blocks to their tower. This is a great game to play at home!

Play-Based Learning

The Foundation students were so excited to see lots of new and fun areas to play with this term! Here are some pictures of them engaging in tasks that practise imagination, fine motor skills, social skills such as sharing and negotiating and much more! 

ANZAC Day

The Foundation students enjoyed learning about ANZAC Day with Mr Foley this week! They created some beautiful poppy artworks and enjoyed making some ANZAC Biscuits!
