Specialist Classes

End of Term Message from Ms Hocking
This year I have taken on the roles of Junior Library, Junior Performing Arts and Junior Auslan. It has been wonderful working with your child/children, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them more throughout the term.
Teaching both Prep and Level 1 across all three subjects has been a wonderful experience. Not only have I had the privilege of seeing the students three times per week — which has allowed me to get to know your child/children on a deeper level — but it has also created great opportunities to blend Auslan and Performing Arts learning across all 3 classes.
I have been blown away by the enthusiasm in Auslan. Preps have loved learning colours and numbers through signing Auslan songs. Level 1s have particularly loved the game ‘What name am I fingerspelling’. I have also loved seeing the Level 2 students' growth in fingerspelling and it has been fantastic to watch their confidence continue to develop.
A huge congratulations to the Prep students for their End of Term Celebration performance of The Library Song and Snapping Turtle. Unfortunately, Wednesday is my day off, but I heard glowing reports about their performance. We had so much fun learning these songs, and I am sure parents and families enjoyed watching the students shine.
Thank you for a wonderful term. I wish everyone a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break.
Warm regards, Ms Hocking
