Principal News

It is hard to believe that the term has come to an end. It feels like only a few weeks ago our Foundation students were starting their learning journey with us. Seeing them yesterday enjoying their celebration morning with family and friends showcasing their learning was such a joyful and proud moment for them!
Fundraising
We recently have had two fundraising events across the school. The easter raffle and icy pole sales were fundraising events. I think it is important for families to understand what we raise funds for and where the raised funds go. All fundraising is used to improve the school for students. It can’t be used for learning programs but can be used for improvements to the facilities (buildings or grounds). Over the years fundraising has been used to make small improvements such as new playground seating or play equipment. In 2024 the funds raised in 2023 were used to build seating and play areas that was brought to the leadership team by the student well being leaders. This project was entirely funded by fundraising efforts of our community in 2023. In 2025 the funds raised in 2024 were allocated to a large project: the new shade sail that was installed at the end of 2025. The school financed the bulk of the shade sail and the additional funds raised by our community enabled us to build the large sail that we did. We now enjoy the increase in outdoor assemblies that we have had to date.
We are currently investigating where the next improvements to the playgrounds will occur. Funds raised in 2025 will go directly to playground improvements this year. This might look like additions to some equipment, redesigning of some equipment and rejuvenating some spaces to make them more enjoyable for students to be in at recess and lunch times.
I will keep you informed of these as we make decisions about which areas will be prioritised. I would especially like to thank the members of our community who have worked hard on organising and managing fundraising events and those families who have been able to support our fundraising events each year. We appreciate being able to make ongoing improvements to the grounds with funds raised.
Wishing all our families a lovely break over the Easter long weekend. I hope that you all have an opportunity to slow down and enjoy some family time. We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday April 20th.
