Wellbeing Week Highlights
The Year 6 students enjoyed a range of fun activities. We started the week with a catch-up about our time off, which was a great start to the day as we got to hear what all our classmates had been up to. We spent some time during maths creating comics that explored what it means to be a good mathematician. We shared ideas about the skills and attitudes that help us succeed. This activity helped develop our growth mindsets and reminded us not to give up when things get challenging.
A highlight of Wellbeing Week was getting to spend time with our Prep Buddies. Thank you to Miss Spence, who led us in partner yoga with our buddies. We practised poses such as downward dog, mountain pose, and tree pose, as well as calm breathing. We also spent some time reading with our buddies, which we really enjoyed. Year 6 appreciated this opportunity as it gave us the chance to support our buddies and help them feel comfortable and settled back into school during their first week of term.
As part of our Unit of Inquiry, we designed “All About Me” T-shirts, decorating them with drawings that represented our interests, personalities, and what makes each of us unique. Overall, we had a fantastic Wellbeing Week and were looking forward to a great rest of the term.
Upcoming in Term 2
Year 6 students are excited to invite our mothers and special friends to our celebrations for Mother’s Day and Special Friends Day. We are also looking forward to lots of sporting events, including the soccer lightning premiership, AFL lightning premiership, and cross country.
We are preparing to make our Confirmation at church with Father John, which was a very important and special occasion for us.
