All Schools State Championships
Congratulations to every rower and coxswain who raced on the weekend, your contributions earned John XXIII Rowing Club second place in the All Schools Championship!
The conditions were very changeable, and crews handled them well. Unfortunately, some races were scratched due to time constraints after the weather delay. Thank you to all competitors for how well you handled that, despite your disappointment.
The alteration resulted in some very tight back-to-back racing for some rowers, and thanks to everyone who pitched in to get crews on the water, locating oars, re-rigging boats, and racing to get bow numbers.
Results are below. With the consolidation and weather, there may be some discrepancies in names listed, particularly coxswains as those changes are not made electronically. Apologies if there are mistakes below.

House Regatta
The House Regatta is scheduled for Saturday 29 August, and hopefully the weather will be kinder to us than last year.
The House Regatta is for students in Years 8 to 12 to have a fun time competing in mixed crews at our Boatshed in the morning. Further information will be sent out in the coming weeks.
A sign-up sheet will be circulated so we can begin assembling the first crew combinations. Parents also get the opportunity to have a go, so make sure you come prepared!
Year 7 Learn to Row
The sign-up for Year 7 Learn to Row is open. This program commences next week. The sessions are held in the afternoon at our Canning Bridge Boat Shed. Please email Claire.woolfitt@johnxxiii.edu.au for more information.
For those students who have already signed up, sessions have been allocated. If you wish to sign up, there is still time – please email Claire.woolfitt@johnxxiii.edu.au
Uniforms
The new zootsuit is now in stock at the Uniform Shop. There is also a training top that can be worn under the zootsuit, and a ¼-zip fleece. The only compulsory item is the Zootsuit for racing at regattas. There is a stock of the old zootsuits that can be worn for training.
Stack Team App
This App is one of our main avenues for communication with rowers and their parents. Please download the ‘Stack Team App’ on your phone, as this is the central place for training schedules, training updates, access to the rowing handbook, to name a few. It is important that all rowers and parents have access.
To get this app please go to the App Store or Google Play and download the Stack Team App onto your mobile device, then follow these simple steps:
- Sign-up to Stack Team App. You’ll be sent an email to confirm your registration.
- Log-in and search for JTCRC, then request to become a member.
