Year 12

Swinburne is thrilled to announce our inaugural Evening of Literature on Thursday, October 8th from 5:00pm - 6:30pm.  The evening will be a tremendous opportunity for our Year 12 Literature students to share their creative work with family and friends and celebrate their successes throughout the year.  Parents and carers should keep an eye out for the booking link and further event details.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Year 11

This term, Year 11 Literature students visited the Ian Potter Centre at NGV Australia to participate in their Voice of Country program. Students used artworks to delve into key concepts like connection to Country, the impact of colonisation, and the challenges of reconciliation, and have since been applying this understanding to their study of the novel The Yield.

This term, Year 12 English students attended a screening of Sunset Boulevard at ACMI Federation Square. Billy Wilder's tragic film noir is best experienced on the big screen, and students were able to enjoy the film together as a cohort of 100.  After the conclusion of the screening, students attended a 60 minute lecture to begin to unpack the key ideas, symbols, and characters of the film, which will help them ahead of their written analysis at the end of the semester.
