Student Voice

Student Voice Springvale campus
Well it has been an action-packed and inspiring few weeks so far, filled with learning, collaboration and respect. There’s already so much to be proud of and even more to look forward to as we head into the rest of the year. Let’s take a look at some of the amazing things that have been happening across our school community!
This year we are really going above and beyond in everything we do. We are starting off strong by setting up our learning environments and revisiting our expectations for our teaching lines, safety lines and our incredibly smooth and quiet transitions. As student leaders who have been at the Springvale Campus for most of our primary school journeys, it has been such a special privilege to see our school grow and improve over the years. We are incredibly proud to be part of our school and to see how far we have all come!
This year, the Foundations have just started school and wow, they are already amazing! Please say hello to the Foundations and make them feel welcome but make sure to stay out of their designated play area so they can settle into our school properly. We are so proud of how well they are doing already!
For the last few weeks, the SLC have been focusing on their student leadership applications. They have been exploring the differences between a boss and a true leader and reflecting on the qualities that set them apart. In addition, they have been working through the writing process to improve their applications and develop the skills needed to present themselves effectively.
With NAPLAN coming up soon, SLC students have been putting in extra effort during Reading and Maths sessions so they can achieve the best results possible. Teachers have been working hard to help students understand the questions they are reading and to develop strategies for answering questions, even when they are tricky.
This week, AusKick sessions started on the Heights Campus. All students from both campuses were invited, and we would love to see you there! Sessions will run every Thursday from 3:30–4:30 pm for the next four weeks on the Heights Campus oval. It is completely free to sign up, and you will also receive a free football and a pack of footy cards.
