Inter School Sport Rundown

Our students have been out and about, representing Collingwood College with skill and sportsmanship.

Tom Phuong, Panha Sambath, Adams Cheng and Grey Hoang competed in badminton Regional Championships against strong competition from around Melbourne’s north. They had a great day and finished third in their pool.

Both our intermediate boys and girls teams competed in futsal, each coming away with a win, and improving a lot throughout the competition. Our Year 8 girls also competed in futsal, coming together as a team and showing some incredible skill, determination, and improvement. It was fantastic to see how the girls’ teams supported each other throughout the day.

Our Year 7 and Year 8 boys teams also gave futsal a red hot crack. The Year 7 team is a development team, improving and giving their best. The Year 8 team was moments away from winning the competition with a flawless record for the whole day, when Ilim College rallied with 40 seconds left and won on penalty shots.

Boys tennis

Our yr 7 boys came 3rd today at interschool sports. They not only played table tennis, they also helped with scoring all day and cheered each other on.

Also a shout out to last term's girls netball team for a fantastic showing!

As this goes to publication, or first ever (or first in many years?) Year 7 boys table tennis team, and our intermediate girls basketball team are heading off to play in their respective competitions.

As the organiser of inter school sport, it’s fantastic to see so many students getting involved, and so much sportsmanship and determination on the field. Go Collingwood!
