Principal News

Wishing all our families a relaxing four-day mid-term rest and opportunity to recharge during the long term. Teachers will be working on end-of-year reports on Monday, and we welcome students back on Wednesday.

Class Structure and teachers for 2027

I am just waiting for some final information and hope to be able to share our school structure(grades) and the teachers in each level next week.  If not next week it will be the week after. This is quite early in term 4 to be doing this, but student wellbeing is always at the centre of what we do here at our amazing school. We know that early knowledge for students and families about which teachers will be in their next year level will support a smoother transition.

A few weeks after this, we will be able to share which classes children have thoughtfully been placed in for 2027.

Prep 2027 Transition Day

Next Thursday, we are holding our second transition session for our 2027 Prep students. Our last one was filled with wonderment and fun. They had opportunities to do ‘schoolwork’ in the classrooms, enjoy an awesome ELMER the patchwork elephant-themed Art session in the Art room, and, of course, some outdoor play. This time, they will participate in a PE and Performing Arts session as well as indoor learning time. We are looking forward to their return next week!

We will be running two full Prep classes in 2027.

Parent Contribution Arrangements for 2027

Our 2027 Parent Contributions Arrangements, including stationery lists and ordering, will be published the week of the 9th of November.

These arrangements will outline voluntary contributions you can make to support Eltham North Primary School in 2027.Payment of these contributions will be accepted from the 27th January 2027.

A friendly reminder that our 2026 Parent Payment Contributions are still open if you wish to support Eltham North Primary School for this year. Contributions can be made on Compass, or you can contact the office if you wish to contribute.

We thank you for your ongoing support of Eltham North Primary School.

Patrick, our Wattletree Road crossing supervisor.

We have been very fortunate to have Patrick as our crossing supervisor on Wattletree Road for ten years. He is always encouraging traffic to slow down. He knows our students so well that sometimes, when children decide to deviate from the family plan and walk themselves home at the end of the day, it is Patrick who can say,’ Yes, I saw them!’ He has become a much-loved and appreciated member of our community. He shared with me this week that at the end of the year, he will hang up his yellow vest and enjoy full retirement. Whilst this is disappointing for us, it is understandable that he is ready for long sleep-ins on these cold mornings. I am sharing this now so you have an opportunity to let him know how much he has been appreciated by our families.

Hope you all have a lovely long weekend and especially so if you are heading away for it!
