MAG Students Represent School at Sea Otter Mountain Biking Event
This week, a group of Moama Anglican Grammar students travelled to Batemans Bay to represent the school at the Sea Otter Mountain Biking Event. Students competing included Nixon Lyle, Dusty Watson, Nate Michael, Archie Watson, Hamish McDonald and Henry Mathers.
Yesterday's competition featured the Rocky Trail Australian School Championship, an enduro-style event with more than 350 competitors from across Australia.
In the Year 4 to 6 category, Dusty Watson finished 38th out of 85 competitors.
In the Year 7 and 8 category, Archie Watson placed 48th out of 120 competitors, Hamish McDonald finished 56th, Nate Michael placed 88th, and Henry Mathers finished 94th.
In the Year 9 and 10 category, Nixon Lyle achieved an impressive 35th place out of 85 competitors.
Students faced challenging conditions throughout the day, with the tracks becoming increasingly dusty, rocky and powdery as hundreds of riders made their way around the course.
Despite the demanding conditions, the day was full of fun and excitement. The team proudly represented the school in their new uniforms and looked professional throughout the event.
The students are now looking forward to a coaching session, and training runs ahead of Saturday’s race. We wish them all the best for the remainder of the competition.
