HSC Class of 2027 Commencement Breakfast and HSC Hub Launch
Excitement and optimism filled the Resource Centre on Monday 19 October as students, families and staff gathered for our Year 12 Commencement Breakfast, officially launching the HSC journey for the Class of 2027.
The morning centred on a simple but powerful message: achieving your personal best is built through consistent habits, intentional routines and making the most of every opportunity. Students were encouraged to approach Year 12 with purpose and balance their academic commitments with sport, work, family, friendships and wellbeing.
A key theme throughout the engagement was the importance of partnership. Success in the HSC is not achieved alone. It is strengthened by the collective support of families, teachers and peers working together to encourage, guide and challenge students throughout the year. Students were also reminded that the HSC is not about comparison, but about collective growth. Supporting classmates, learning alongside one another and celebrating each other's successes strengthens the entire cohort.
Families and students also heard practical advice about creating healthy study routines and developing effective learning habits. Drawing on current educational neuroscience research, students were encouraged to focus on active study strategies such as practice questions, self testing, summarising learning and explaining concepts to others, rather than relying solely on screen based revision.
A highlight of the morning was the official launch of the HSC Hub, a dedicated learning space within the Resource Centre designed to support students throughout their Year 12 journey. The Hub provides a range of opportunities for focused independent study, collaborative learning, after school workshops and direct access to teacher support.
Purposefully designed to cater for different learning preferences, the space encourages students to develop effective study habits, engage deeply with their learning and make the most of the academic support available as they work towards their personal best.
As the Class of 2027 embarks on this significant chapter, they do so supported by a dedicated community that believes in their potential. The year ahead will present opportunities to learn, lead, grow and achieve. We look forward to celebrating their successes, nurturing their growth, and watching them write the next chapter of their stories as they pursue their goals with purpose, resilience and confidence.
Kind regards,
