Year 3 & 4
Around our level
It has been a busy couple of weeks in Year 3/4. The Year 3s have been busy completing NAPLAN in the areas of Writing, Reading, Language Conventions, and Numeracy. They have all tried their very best, and we are very proud of them. Their writing prompt was about a rock, and the students wrote a variety of stories. There were stories about hidden rocks, mystery rocks, and even rock bands!

While the Year 3s were completing NAPLAN tasks, the Year 4s were enjoying their time back together. The students spent time watching and exploring the ‘Birdman Rally’ from Moomba. Students used a variety of materials to make something that would be able to fly. Feathers, pipe cleaners, paper, and lots of sticky tape was used to present something that could be tested. There were 2 categories that the students were aiming to win:
The most creative design - won by Jett, Maddie, Lucy, and Jakob.
The most successful ‘Birdman’ - won by Hudson, Ella, Lenny, and Emily C.
Well done to all students! Please enjoy the photos from these sessions!

In Maths, we have been looking at 3D shapes. We spent the week making and folding the nets that create the 3D shapes. Students spent time classifying the shapes between pyramids and prisms, and identifying the differences between them.

Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below students' certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
