School Review
Thanks to everyone that contributed to the School Review. It was wonderful for our Reviewers to hear from parents, students and staff. The Review Day went well and the feedback was positive, with a few key areas to be addressed for development. These will be evident in the new 2027-2030 Strategic Plan.
The broad summary of the Reviewers observations are:
| Overall tone | Calm, orderly, well-routinised school culture with genuinely high engagement and a strong sense of pride and safety among students. |
| Consistent strength | Planning consistency within and across grade levels, clear routines, and differentiated / streamed learning groups (Maths, Spelling, extension – normal – improvement). |
| Recurring theme | Success Criteria (SC) and Learning Intentions (LI) are in use but not yet fully understood or consistently articulated — raised independently by classroom observers, students, and teachers. |
| Parent sentiment | Strong loyalty and satisfaction, particularly around culture, wellbeing, and transition, alongside clear requests for more frequent and less ‘dot-based’ communication. |
| Teacher sentiment | Confidence in core routines and PLC structures and opportunity to enhance catering for extension students and clarity on what “explicit teaching” should look like school-wide. |
Remaining Curriculum Days - Student Free Days
The last two Curriculum Days (Student Free Days) for the school have been confirmed as:
Monday 5 October (first day of Term 4)
Monday 2 November (day before Melbourne Cup Day)
We appreciate that there has been a number of school days lost due to the industrial action, however these final Curriculum Days are planned and will be used effectively for teacher planning and development.
Annual Parent Opinion Survey - Coming Soon
The 2026 Parent and Caregiver Opinion Survey will be available to complete online from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026.
The survey seeks feedback from parents on:
- school climate
- community engagement in learning
- teaching practices for student engagement and outcomes
- attitudes towards school attendance.
Next week we will provide parents with the link to log on and complete the survey. We greatly value parent opinion - your views have resulted in many changes around the school in past years, so please participate in the survey.
