Learning & Innovation

Learning is a lifelong process.”

—  Peter Drucker

Welcome students and families to Term 2. I trust the holiday break provided a well deserved opportunity for rest before we dive into what is traditionally one of the most productive periods of the academic year.

As we launch into Term 2, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in the "learning race". This is the point where students must realistically gauge how their race is unfolding. It is no longer about the adrenaline of the starting line; it is about the steady and focused implementation of a learning strategy. Whether that means refining a study timetable, seeking extra feedback on drafts, or mastering a difficult concept - now is the time to execute that plan with intention.

Communication and Consistency

To ensure a smooth journey this term, staying informed is vital. It remains a firm expectation that all students check their College email account at least twice every school day. These communications often contain the missing piece of a puzzle; be it a room change, a resource link, or a deadline reminder. This ensures they remain on track and organised.

Senior Students

Following our Year 11 Parent-Teacher-Student interviews at the end of last term, I hope the conversations regarding the Preliminary Year were both insightful and motivating. For our Class of 2026, who are now navigating the critical middle stages of their final year, the upcoming Semester One Reports will serve as a vital diagnostic tool. I encourage Year 12 to look beyond the grades and engage deeply with the teacher feedback to identify the precise adjustments needed for the months ahead.

Year 10

A significant milestone for Year 10 is approaching as they begin the Stage 6 Subject Selection process. Success in the HSC is often rooted in choosing courses that align with a student’s strengths and interests. We encourage parents and their daughters to begin these discussions early; and set clearly defined and measurable goals that make the transition to senior schooling manageable and rewarding.

Google Classroom

To further support your daughter’s learning journey, we encourage parents and guardians to become "Guardian" subscribers on Google Classroom. I have received a number of emails from parents with regards to the process involved and access provided. Once enrolled as a Guardian, you will receive automated email summaries (daily or weekly); including missing work, upcoming due dates, and class announcements.

How to join:

  1. To initiate this process, please reach out directly to your daughter’s individual classroom teachers via email to request a "Guardian Invite".
  2. Once the teacher sends the invitation to your preferred email address, you simply need to click "Accept" to begin receiving updates.

This transparency allows us to work as a unified team in supporting your daughter's academic progress.
