2026 Student Leadership Selection Process
The process to select our 2026 Senior Student Leaders is now underway.
Our shortlisted candidates prepared their speeches and on Friday 24 October, they presented in front of Years 9–11 students and staff.
Following the presentations, voting took place involving both students and staff. A panel will then select the 2026 School Captains based on merit, choosing the two candidates who best demonstrate leadership qualities.
In the coming weeks, panels will also be held to determine other 2026 leadership positions, including:
- Defence Captain
- Multicultural Captain
- SRC Captain
House Captain candidates will present and be voted on during house meetings (Years 7–11), with input from house staff. Finalists from each house will then move through to a panel stage in the following weeks.
We look forward to seeing our students demonstrate their leadership, confidence and school pride throughout this process. Good luck to all candidates!
Seymour Railway Heritage Centre
As part of his VM studies, Year 11 student, Angus Ashworth organised a tour of the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre on Tuesday 21 October. We got to learn about the impact Seymour has had on the railway industry – something none of us knew about. We got to see old wooden trains including the 1939 train that was state of the art at the time and carried the Queen and other trains that showed the progression through the years.
We also learnt about their restoration processes and how they have mechanically changed over the years.
What a very cool thing we have right here in our town!
