🌟P&C EXECUTIVE TEAM UPDATE - CASUAL VACANCY🌟
Join the Executive
There is currently a casual vacancy for the position of Vice President on the P&C Executive Committee.
Renuka Awadalla, our current President, has also advised the school community of her intention to step down from the role of P&C President at the November AGM.
If you are interested in either of these positions, or would simply like to find out more about what the roles involve, please reach out to any member of the Executive Committee for an informal chat.
We’d love to hear from anyone within our school community who may be interested in getting involved and helping support our school and families.
President
- Chairing of P&C Association meetings
- Ensuring the P&C Association's objectives are met
- Ensuring that the P&C Association takes part in decision-making processes in the school
- Setting up lines of communication with the Principal and establishing a positive and constructive relationship with the school
- Establishing a positive relationship with the school
- Creating a welcoming environment and fostering fair participation
- Setting agendas
- Adherence to the constitution, by-laws, rules, policies and procedures
- Acting as the P&C Association's spokesperson
- Being a signatory on the P&C Association's bank accounts
Vice Presidents
- Backup chairperson
- Supporting the president, secretary and treasurer in their roles
- Shadowing the treasurer and secretary to act as a back-up
- Often assigned oversight of key operations, e.g. canteen, uniform shop, WWCC
- Signatory to P&C Association bank accounts.
P&C VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS
Each year, our P&C invites families to make a voluntary contribution to help fund projects and resources that enhance our students' school experience but are not funded by the Department of Education.
Our priorities for 2026
Following consultation with our school community, the P&C has identified three key fundraising priorities:
- Air conditioning for the school hall – creating a more comfortable space for assemblies, performances, sport and community events.
- A new PA system for the COLA – improving sound quality for presentations, sporting carnivals and outdoor activities.
- Additional playground equipment – such as outdoor table tennis tables and/or pickleball courts, providing more active and engaging play opportunities.
Suggested voluntary contribution
To recognise that older students have already benefited from previous fundraising initiatives, we suggest:
- $100 – Early Stage 1 & Stage 1 (Years K–2)
- $80 – Stage 2 (Years 3–4)
- $60 – Stage 3 (Years 5–6)
Participation is entirely voluntary, and every contribution, large or small, is sincerely appreciated. All contributions are pooled and used to support projects that provide the greatest benefit to our school community.
Contributions can be made through Qkr! by selecting your preferred amount. If you would like to donate more than the suggested amount, simply select multiple donation amounts.
GRANTS UPDATE
We are pleased to share that the new water bottle fillers are due to be installed in a few weeks. Thank you to our generous sponsor Community Bank Epping – Bendigo Bank, for their support in making this a reality. We can’t wait to hydrate!

Over the last fortnight, we have also received the final component of our canteen upgrade made possible by The Epping Club in conjunction with the ClubGRANTS scheme. The ClubGRANTS scheme is a shared State Government-Club Industry program funded by a 2.25% gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum. We are so grateful to our sponsor for having provided us funding to purchase our new fridge, freezer and oven. Get on Qkr! to order some tasty treats or pay us a visit at recess or lunch! Canteen project update
Can you hear Emily singing from the canteen? If you listen closely, you just might!
We’re so excited to share that the canteen is looking bigger, better and shinier than ever, proudly sporting some fantastic new equipment:
- A brand-new fridge
- A brand-new freezer
- And the latest addition — a new industrial 5-tray oven!
And let us tell you… the cheese sticks have never tasted so good!
Head on down to the canteen and have a look at our new setup. And if you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to help out but I’m not sure what I can do…”, now is your chance!
Want to volunteer some time and help cook up a storm with the brand-new oven? Emily would absolutely love some extra hands! Come and say hello, lend a hand and maybe enjoy the delicious rewards of your efforts along the way!

School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) interview panel parent representative.
Following the retirement of the much-loved Mrs B, our Support Unit SLSO, the school has now received approval to advertise and recruit for the position. The P&C is seeking a parent representative to join the interview panel, alongside Mrs Bryant and an SLSO representative from another school.
As part of this role, the successful parent representative will be required to:
- Liaise directly with Mrs Bryant throughout the recruitment process.
- Review the CVs of potential applicants in your own time.
- Be available for a full day of interviews and referee calls.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to roseleapspandc@gmail.com.
All interested members of our school community will be considered. Being a parent of a Support Unit student is not a prerequisite for this role.
This is a wonderful opportunity to have a voice in the recruitment of an important member of our school community, and we encourage anyone who is interested to put forward an EOI.
PAST EVENTS
DISCO highlights and thanks
The much-awaited disco came and went in the blink of an eye, and fun was definitely had by all!
Some of our highlights included the delicious BBQ (on our brand new barbie with thanks to Bunnings Rydalmere & Carlingford), a seemingly bountless supply of snacks and sweet treats, the raging glow sticks, and, of course, who could forget the security presence at this highly exclusive event!
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came together to make the night happen. From cutting out and laminating decorations, to hole-punching, hanging everything up, cooking, serving and helping throughout the evening - there were so many jobs that happened behind the scenes.
A big shout out also has to go to Team Kids who supported our event with two of their staff members who helped us out all night at the BBQ.
We were genuinely humbled by the way our school community rallied together to make this event possible. It truly takes a village, and you all showed up!
We’ve also partnered with Communion and are so excited that we’ve been able to “shout” a coffee for everyone who helped out, as a little token of our appreciation.
YOU are all wonderful. Thank you for everything you do to make our school community so special!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Father’s Day
Never a dull moment — or a moment to spare! It’s straight out of the frying pan and into the fire as we get ready for our upcoming Father’s Day event!
As a P&C Executive, our focus this year has been on giving back, building a sense of belonging, and strengthening our school community. This Father’s Day, we want to celebrate not only our dads, but ALL of the wonderful and important male figures who help influence, support and guide our children.
We’re excited to be partnering with Carlingford High School to offer your child the opportunity to spend some quality time with their special guy, enjoying a relaxed breakfast together.
Whether it’s Dad, Pop, Grandpa, an uncle or stepdad, we want everyone to feel welcome and celebrated.
RSVP & Catering
This is an accompanied, RSVP-only event. For catering purposes, it is really important that you head to Qkr! to RSVP by THIS Friday 28th August.
Please use the profile of your eldest child and enter the total number of attendees. For example: Father + 2 children = 3 attendees.
Each RSVP’d attendee can collect a hot breakfast roll from the BBQ, as well as a sweet treat if they wish.
Gifts & Clearance Stall
In addition to breakfast, there are two pre-purchased gifts available to purchase through Qkr! and must be completed by 5pm THIS Friday, 28 August.
We’ll also be running a clearance stall on Wednesday 2 September and Thursday 3 September, as outlined in the flyer below.

We can’t do these events without our wonderful community of volunteers, and every little bit of help makes a huge difference. Please remember, if we cannot reach at least 80% of the required volunteers for this event, changes may be necessary.
COMMUNITY EVENTS AGREEMENT
Events rely on community support to make them happen. We need at least 80% of required volunteer shifts filled 3 weeks prior to an event in order to keep it alive.
By sharing the load, we can continue to provide the fantastic events and experiences our school community enjoys.
