Principal's Message
Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal
It has been an exciting and very busy fortnight here at Roselea, with so many wonderful events bringing our school community together to celebrate talent, creativity, and connection.
School Band
A special congratulations to our Training Band, who performed brilliantly at the Ryde Eisteddfod and took out first place for the very first time – what an amazing achievement! All our bands performed with dedication and skill, making us proud. It was a great opportunity for extra practice ahead of the Festival of Bands, which is on tonight.
P&C
The P&C Disco was a fantastic night filled with fun and laughter. It was great to see the P&C committee dressing up in costume, featuring our very own bouncer and Grease’s Pink Ladies. A huge thank you to all the parent helpers who supported supervision, stalls, organisation, and the BBQ – your efforts made the night a big success. Don’t forget to check the P&C section for details on upcoming events including the Father’s Day Stall and Father’s Day Breakfast, featuring delicious bacon and egg rolls plus something sweet for dads and kids to enjoy. #GetinvolvedatRoselea
Book Parade
Our annual Book Parade, expertly led by Mrs Vassila alongside our library and school leaders, was another highlight. Thank you to all the parents who put so much effort into costume design, and to our enthusiastic teachers and students. As Mrs Wally for the day, I thoroughly enjoyed looking for all the fantastic characters we find in books amongst the audience, from superheroes, crayons and wizards to my fellow Wally’s, it was a wonderful morning. We are already looking forward to next year when teachers will coordinate their outfits for an even bigger spectacle!
Science Day
Science Day sparked curiosity and excitement with fantastic Science Fair entries, the hatching of chicks, and an engaging Fizzics Incursion. The hands-on experiments challenged thinking and inspired a love of science in our students. Huge thanks to Mrs Prince, Mrs Mulholland, and Mrs Pritchard for their hours and hours of organisation, and to our P&C and parent helpers for their invaluable support in making the day run smoothly.
Hills Public Speaking
Our School Hills Public Speaking Finals showcased some incredible speakers who captivated their audiences with confidence and passion. Congratulations to all students who participated in class and grade finals and special congratulations to Roselea PS winners Yr 3 - Callum R, Yr 4 - Arjun S, Yr 5 - Timothy S, Yr 6 - Kirin C. Public speaking is such an important skill, and it was inspiring to see it celebrated so enthusiastically.
Preschool Connections
At Roselea we value every opportunity to work with our local preschools as we build connections for our future students and their families. It was wonderful to have Gumtree Cottage join us for the Book Parade last week. We also held our first Friday Story Time with Munchkin Manor, where Mrs Idstein wowed the little ones with her talented character voices and singing, creating a magical introduction to reading and storytelling at Roselea.
Parent as Partners Survey
Thank you to all the families who have already completed our Parents as Partners mid-year survey. The survey will be open for one more week and we would love to reach the magical mark of 100 responses; we are close but not quite there yet. It will be our biggest response to a survey to date, and it really is great to be able to gain feedback from so many families. #GetinvolvedatRoselea
