SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS
Best of luck to our 3 students!
Brighton Secondary College are very excited that we have three students who will be representing the school at the state schools ski championships this year.
Bodie, Adam and Ethan will head up to the snow next month to take on students from all schools in a range of events.
This will be Ethan’s debut competition so no doubt the nerves will be high as he begins his Giant Slalom course. Joining him on the Giant Slalom will be Adam who brings some competition experience having competed in this event last year as well as lots of experience from his Mt Bulla squad training. Adam has high hopes of finishing in the top 20 this year and moving on to the nationals
Bodie has the busiest program of the three as he will be competing in the Alpine, Giant Slalom, Moguls and ski cross. Like Adam, Bodie is coming into this competition with very high hopes of progressing to the nationals, especially on the back of his recent results at the Maccabi Games last weekend. Bodie was able to secure the silver medal in Alpine and hopes to carry that form forward to next month.
The boys schedules for those who will be keen to follow the results action is as follows:
Bodie is in Division 2 (Yrs 9 and 10) - skiing in 3 disciplines (Alpine GS, Ski Cross and Moguls) across Thursday 22 and Friday 23 August.
Ethan and Adam are in Div 1 (Yrs 11 and 12) - skiing in Alpine GS only on Sunday 25 August.
Brighton Secondary College wishes all the boys all the best month and I’m sure we all look forward to seeing their results.
