Department Opinion Survey

2024 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Dear Parents, Caregivers & Guardians,

Our school is currently conducting a survey to find out what our parents/caregiver/guardian community thinks of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We encourage all families to please participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

While previously a random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate, in recent years, we are inviting all families to participate in the survey.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is open until Friday 30th August.

The survey is conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time until Friday 30th August on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek. Please see my current PCGOS 2024 post on Compass for access to these translation guides.

On Monday 29th July, we emailed one parent/caregiver/guardian from each family in our College community. We are also planning on resending all email invitations again this Monday 12th August, to hopefully make it even easier for our parent/caregiver/guardian community to locate! This email contains the survey link and your families’ unique access information. Please note that, should you opt-in to completing the short survey, only one parent/caregiver/guardian from your family is required to complete it.

Last year, we received 225 responses and it would be amazing (and very useful to us!) if our parents/caregivers/guardians could match or even top this number in 2024!

We thank you in advance for taking the time to tell us what you think – it is very much appreciated!

Yours sincerely,

Mr Nathan Hutchins
