BUS ZONE SAFETY – NO PARKING OUT THE FRONT OF SCHOOL
We would like to remind all families and visitors that the area directly out the front of the school is a designated bus zone. This space must remain clear at all times to ensure the safe and efficient movement of school buses during drop-off and pick-up periods.
Parking or stopping in the bus zone, even briefly, creates safety risks for students and disrupts bus operations. We ask that all drivers respect the signage in place and avoid stopping in this area under any circumstances, including using it as a waiting or pick-up space.
Stopping in the slip lane or bus zone creates significant safety concerns, particularly when vehicles are parked incorrectly in the area. This reduces visibility and makes it difficult and unsafe for vehicles and buses to navigate around obstructions.
Please use this designated area rather than the slip lane directly out the front of the school. There is suitable parking available at Sarawak Oval, outside the Theatre, or at the two nearby boat ramp car parks. The traffic congestion and informal stopping in the front slip lane is causing ongoing safety concerns and must be avoided.
Please also be mindful of our neighbours, as the Palm Beach Aquatic Centre is not a drop-off or pick-up zone.
We appreciate the ongoing cooperation of our school community in helping to keep students safe and traffic flowing smoothly at busy times of the day.
ROAD MARKINGS AND YELLOW DOTTED LINES
Yellow dotted or broken lines along the kerb indicate a restricted stopping area. In Queensland, these markings generally mean stopping or parking is not permitted in that location, unless signage states otherwise.
These markings are commonly used in areas where it is important to keep traffic flowing safely, including near bus zones, intersections, driveways, or narrow sections of roadway. Even brief stops in these areas can create safety hazards and obstruct visibility for other road users.
ONLINE CANTEEN ORDERING NOW AVAILABLE AT PBC
We have introduced Flexischools as our online system for pre-ordering canteen food.
Flexischools is a simple and convenient platform that allows students and families to place canteen orders in advance, helping reduce queues and create a smoother service during busy break times.
Families can download the Flexischools app and set up an account to browse the menu, place orders and manage payments easily through their device.
The app is available via the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android), or families can register online at: flexischools.com.au
Please note that all online orders are to be collected from the TTC (Old Junior Canteen).
If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact the school.
