Connected for Student Success

Working Together
One of the strongest predictors of student success is a positive partnership between school and home. When students see the important adults in their lives working together, they are more likely to feel supported, connected and motivated to succeed.
At PBC, we focus on creating safe, supportive learning environments where every student can grow academically, socially and emotionally. Families play an equally important role through encouragement, communication, routines, and ongoing support at home. Neither school nor home can do it alone — the greatest impact happens when we work together toward the shared goal of helping young people thrive.
Open communication is an important part of this partnership. Sometimes this may involve celebrating success, and other times it may involve working together to support a student through challenges. These conversations are always most productive when approached with respect and a shared commitment to student improvement.
Every student’s journey is different, and progress does not always happen in a straight line. What matters most is that students know that school staff and care givers are united in supporting their learning, wellbeing, and future success.
Parent Partnership Challenge
This week, try swapping “How was your day?” with a more open-ended question that encourages deeper conversation. For example:
- “What was the best part of your day today?”
- “What challenged you today?”
“Who did you help today, or who helped you?”
Small daily conversations can build strong connections and give young people the message that their learning experiences and wellbeing matter.
